I get so excited every time I hear news about B3. Is it done yet?....How about now?....Now?

This series helped us forge the multiplayer aspect of the Warrior Clan so it retains a big place in our original members hearts. Big question; where is Borderlands 3?

Take-Two Interactive recently released its earnings report and among the details were that the company will deliver it's “highly anticipated new title from one of 2K’s biggest franchises.” The floor is open for a lot of possible titles but we are focused on just one: Borderlands 3

The most likely title under 2K Games could be Borderlands 3. 2K has already revealed a few screenshots showcasing the game’s engine and we already know that the game is coming sometime in the future. 2K Games has yet to officially announce the title, but Gearbox Software has already acknowledged and teased Borderlands 3 multiple times in the past.

Note:
The earnings report reads:
Looking ahead to fiscal 2019, we expect to deliver both record Net Sales and record net cash provided by operating activities, in excess of $2.5 billion and $700 million, respectively, led by the launches of Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 and a highly anticipated new title from one of 2K’s biggest franchises.”

Perhaps we’ll hear more at E3.

I may or may not be waiting on pins and needles for this next shoot-fest. 😝

I think an announcement has been long overdue, and this non-stop teasing has been driving fans of the earlier games crazy. A lot of big new titles were announced for 2017, and Gearbox Software is yet to board that train with Borderlands 3. With that being said, we as fans don’t really mind the fact that the studio is taking their own sweet time with the development of Borderlands 3. What currently hurts as an almost unbearably long wait is sure to pay off later when the game finally comes out. And we all know the standards that the earlier games in the series have set for future entries. So even if Gearbox announces the game, it might not come out anytime soon.

This is precisely the reason why I feel that Borderlands 3 will release in 2018. I am expecting Borderlands 3 to be a truly open game, with hard core entertainment minus any glitches. I am expecting the Borderlands 3 release date to be in September 2018 or a little later.

On March 25th, Redditor made a post revealing supposed new details about an upcoming reveal for the highly-anticipated Borderlands 3. Stating it was the “darkest game in the saga,”and would be revealed June 10, and would release September 2018, have single-player, multi-player, co-op, and survival modes, have a season pass with 3 unannounced expansions, and take 25-30 hours to beat, the would be-leaker may have peaked some gamer’s interest. But, for a number of reasons, the image associated with the leak, and thereby suggesting the entire leak, may be false.

The image, depicted below, definitely seems to fit the typical outlandish cartoon-style of Borderlands, but upon further inspection, it’s more likely to be false. First off, the text appears to be ripped straight from the original Borderlands, and the man in the image appears to have a Photoshop filter applied. Moreover, the overabundance of detail with one single leak is also strange, even for a game as massive as Borderlands 3, and the image has similarities to Dark Souls. Check it out below:

Although this image and leak is most likely a fake, there is some solid evidence Borderlands 3 could launch before March 2019. It isn’t outside of the realm of possibility that this leak is at least semi-accurate either. On the supposed day of the reveal, Microsoft and Bethesda will be having press conferences, and it’s within reason that Microsoft and 2k partnered up to deliver the best Borderlands experience possible. However, this is only one theory, but with E3 only a few months away, something could perhaps be heard as it draws closer.
