Gearbox's Anthony Burch and Paul Hellquist on the Future and Present of Borderlands 2

Near the end of the page in the link above they let slip about how next gen systems have so much more power that we could see more than 4 player co-op. A very smart ploy by the reporter, in my opinion, to get them to unofficially mention B3.

Anyone else think that with the ending of the main story line that we will be exploring other worlds? More importantly Promethea.

SPOILERS FOR B2:
In the hologram that comes out of the Vault Key we discover there are many different vaults on many different planets.

Another planet is mentioned as being worse than Pandora called Promethea in B1 and 2. Roland served two tours of duty there. It is also the first place alien technology was discovered.

It has always been hinted at that we will get to see the inside of the space station orbiting Pandora in B2's last DLC. However as a random NPC states in the town "How do we get off this planet?"

Ah, the possibilities. Pandora is an awesome planet with plenty of life left in it but I suppose a new planet wouldn't hurt. I wonder if the last DLC pack will make any clever nods to the Alien films. Knowing Gearbox, I would not be suprised if they added an easter egg or something that refers to the Alien films.

If the ending of Assault On Dragon Keep is any clue as to what we will be getting ourselves into, expect the six vault hunters to take a trip to the Hyperion moon base where it is thought that an armory resides. Break into that bad boy and whoo hoo! Maybe we can finally destroy that base and bring peace to Pandora. Nah!

I still think the Hyperion moon and it's base will be the focus of the next Borderland adventure.

I would love to see the game transformed from a cartoon look into a rich graphical environment with lush jungles and wind blown dunes. The new consoles can have a big impact on the richness of the game.

Like that list mentioned, I wouldn't mind seeing some other use for eridium besides buying items from the black market. The items are useful and it takes a long time to purchase every item but what happens once you purchase every uprgrade? Eridium becomes practically useless. I wouldn't mind seeing a system where you could exchange eridium for money or something of that manner.

Also, I think being able to create your own gun would be an amazing feature but at the same time it would take away from the overall atmosphere of Borderlands since the game virtually revolves around the "bazilions of guns." Regardless, I hope Gearbox takes there time with Borderlands 3 and not make the same mistake they made with Colonial Marines.

I think that maybe we could get a bazilion mods for our guns. Not too powerful though as to balance out the gun collection.

I would also like to collect more than just guns, shields and the like.
I'd like to be able to collect other very rare stuff as well that could customize our buggy in more ways than appearance like upgrades!

I like your idea, having a bazilion mods would be a novel feature that would enhance the game greatly.

I'm grateful that Gearbox added the bank vault for BL2 so you could save your weapons but for BL3, I wouldn't mind seeing a greater storage system. Maybe having a house where you can purchase various upgrades such as being able to hang your guns on a wall or on a gun rack. I don't know, maybe that's a bit to much but it could be cool.

If we are traveling off Pandora maybe we'll have our own spaceship.

Though knowing what the game is like we'd crash into Promethia.

If we do have a house/spaceship I'd like to see our trophies/achievements on the walls, and collect even more stuff to put into it.

I like the idea of hanging our guns on the wall.
Show them off to friends while being locked in place lol.

Another thing I want to see is mines. Vehicular, Hover (for flying enemies), and anti personal mines.
Imagine a mine hovering in the air with electric element and MIRV, a Corrosive anti-buggy mine, or a Slag Bouncing Betty.

Also where is a proper Minigun? - not that slow Dahl crap.

A house would be cool, but for now, you can stow some of your stuff in Claptrap's "Secret Stash".

On a side mission called Claptrap's "Secret Stash", he tells you, "You helped me reach Sanctuary, minion - and for that, you deserve a reward. I have a secret stash hidden very, very far away from where I currently am! In order to find it, you will have to perform a series of devious challenges. First, collect a few brown rocks for me. Then, defeat a badass skag. Then, pilfer the lost staff of Mount Schuler. THEN you shall bring me the head of the Destroyer of Worlds, and THEN YOU SHALL DANCE FOR MY ENJOYMENT! HAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHA--".

Claptrap wants to offer a reward for helping him reach Sanctuary, but first he has a few requests. He will announce five ridiculous objectives, all of which can be disregarded. Once he's done talking, the reward should reveal itself across the alley from him.

The secret stash operates like a small item bank that you can share between all of your characters.

We are talking about Borderlands 3 upgrades lol. You can upgrade the bank in B2 btw with one of the dlc.

Gearbox Is Ready to Start the Next Borderlands Game
"This is the big one."

Gearbox is ready to begin working on the next Borderlands game, the company announced during its final panel at PAX South today.

"We are recruiting for next Borderlands. This is the big one. Industry badass? E-mail me: heyrandy@gearboxsoftware.com," Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said on Twitter. "We want to hear from passionate and talented people to help us with next Borderlands game. Check our website!"

The jobs page on Gearbox's website has a bunch of new openings, including one for a writer who will oversee and direct the development of story and plot for a AAA title.

Pitchford didn't say whether this next Borderlands game is Borderlands 3, but given the fact that he called it the "big one," it seems likely.

Yesterday, Gearbox announced that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is getting campaign DLC that will take you into the mind of Claptrap, and that it's adding Lady Hammerlock as a playable character this week, Tuesday, January 27.

OMG, that's the best news I've heard so far this year. And since the older games have been ported to the new consoles, the new game must be "new console" ready. Is it out yet? How about now? Oh, now? How about now? (putting 20 bucks in the AWSOME jar) 3(

Everyone's anticipating Borderlands 3 and I'm just sitting here playing Borderlands 2. Seriously, I'm nowhere near completion and I still have yet to play the Pre-Sequel.

Regardless, Borderlands 3 might be another tipping point for me pertaining to buying a next gen console.

The Borderlands development team wants to start making B3 but despite having a large team already the project is too big for them. They are currently tweeting, and advertising for help.

Considering that B1, B2, and TPS had a BAZZILION GUNS, I wonder what they have planed for this larger team?

Personally I want to see a BAZZILION different mods for each of the BAZZILION guns! I wan't to build our vehicles, and I want multiple worlds!

You might think that last one is stretching it but a game has already done it in an amazing fashion, and I'm surprisingly not talking about Mass Effect. what I am talking about is Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time on the PS3. You had a spaceship that could fly between worlds and land on them with no loading at all.

Given the directing that TPS has gone with the story it makes sense that we would try to open (or prevent the opening?) of vaults on other planets.

Here is a LINK to Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time's guns as they could learn a thing or two about weird guns from this game as well. The weapons are the most fun guns I've ever seen in a game.

This video doesn't show the guns in the game but it's good for a demonstration and an lol

It's taken from the in-game shop to show you what a weapon does before you buy it.

I put this game in the Vintage section HERE

New Borderlands Being Made "Specifically For Next-Gen"
Don't expect Gearbox's upcoming game to launch for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, Take-Two says.

What will the cover of Borderlands 3 look like?

We can only wait. When? When will we hear something more?

What do you want in borderlands 3?

Borderlands has over a gazillion guns, but one problem I've always had is the fact that most of them are below par to the gun I'm already holding. I want B3 to run a check on the stats of the guns I have and give me better gear at a higher rate. It doesn't have to be legendary, just a step up in some way.

I want more money available to collect. BL1 has lots of money laying around. Even after getting killed several times in a row, I still have lots of money to buy ammo and guns.

Speaking of guns, I'm tired of not having enough money to buy the "Deal of the Day" from the vending machines. Either give us more money or make gun prices lower.

I bought an automatic rifle in BL1 with a fire rate of 15 and it's bad-ass. Give us more stuff like that. :)
