Warrior Clan Rules

No swearing. Exception to rule: minimum swearing in memes and youtube.com videos. (If you are not sure ask our leader Masiv, or a moderator)

No pornography.

Do not talk about personally committing game piracy, or links to places where you can do so.

No political discussion on the forums unless it relates to gaming or the technology related to it. Exception to rule: If war breaks out in your country.

No slandering other people’s religion/atheism & no preaching of it. Eg: Saying what you believe "simply" in a blog, or saying that you are praying for someone is allowed but keep religion to a minimum. If it is a fake game faith like The Chantry in Dragon Age go for it. Exception to rule: If a game faith is loosely based on a faith in the real world you could mention that in a review while taking into account the first part of this rule.

No bigotry or trolling.

Have fun!

I've written out a set of rules for our forum. Masiv asked me too a while ago and I've gotten around to it.

While it is up to Masiv if we have these written into a rules thread I'd like to see what people think of them.

For the most part its not going to change anything for the currently active members of the Clan, but it is more for other people who join up.
If you want something added, taken out, or edited let me know.

I still have the original rules I wrote for the Warrior Clan when it was created. Also the "mission statement" that the verbiage under "recruitment" on the top left of our page was pulled from. I could e mail it to you or post it here.

Ok. I'll behave, no Politics unless it's a war breaking out and no Religion unless if I'm praising the sun.

If the fates existed they’d be laughing at me right now. I wrote some rules that I thought would protect us as we get newer members & then Ubisoft make a game about Montana. Far Cry 5 is obviously been written based on the latest goings on in North America & because of this the politics and religion sections of our rules might need some amendments so that we can talk about games based on real political or religious events. If they made a game based around Brexit it would be hard to not talk about certain real world issues.

Then there is a huge majority of shooter games. Let’s face it a lot of them are killing Muslims on mass. I wrote a Persona 5 blog that I can't share because religion plays a heavy part in it.

So I’m going to re-write the rules. Tell me below what you think they should be. All I really want is argument protection.

PS Where are those rules Biker Bear?

I would lean towards leaving the rules as they are but if the rest of you want to amend them fair enough I understand why. Political and social issues are getting harder to avoid even in movies and games which is a real shame since those forms of entertainment used to be a means of escape so people could switch off and relax for a while.

Very true. Games like Far Cry 5 are going to challenge the topics that can cause division between people. I don't have an answer. Let's just be respectful and sensitive to others.

"Play is the highest form of research, a chance to discover who we are, or maybe who we want to become." - Albert Einstein
Those who play games know why they do. To discover worlds, to challenge our fingers, and our minds. To connect with friends, or maybe just to escape.
Games are about possibilities, the paths we take as well as the ones we don't.

Don't know much though, I'd like to apply the first rule of Fight Club in Religion and Politics.
but since we're here. I just thought even though Far Cry 5 do have something about religious group and/or politics. What I think people are doing on purpose is getting offended.
As much as I hate to say it here or anywhere else I get my a** into. People get offended or react almost anything these days. Take a look at Marvel's Iron Fist; other people get reacted badly because Danny Rand isn't an Asian martial artist, then again Danny Rand in the Comics ain't an Asian either.
another one is Ghost in the Shell movie starring Scarlett Johansson. People seems to get triggered since the Major in the Anime is obviously Japanese with the name Major Kusanagi. like in Iron Fist "Should be Asian"

There's so much more example that People get offended over anything these days but those are the common ones. if it's about religion I think the one I only remember is that one Guy in Steam played Bioshock Infinite. if y'all played it then you know where this is going if not. I'll put it in Spoiler

Some guy in Steam bought Bioshock Infinite He played it until the End of the game. When seeing the ending of the game it is quite the hitter on Religious beliefs about being a Born again Christian.
After that he made a request on steam to Refund the game (that is he already finished the damn thing) because the Game "offended" his Religious beliefs. I'm surprised Steam accepted his reasons and gave him back his money.

My point is: Sometimes it is useless to either avoid religious and political topic or engaging on it because one way or another someone, somewhere is purposely get offended to start a fire in the internet.

I agree with everyone.

That Bioshock thing is absurd. It was a cult not Christianity. He shouldn't have gotten a refund.

I have a suggestion. How about a subforum for VR games?

If you download Google Chrome on your iPad you can select an option called "Request Desktop Site" and see the Warrior Clan just as you would on PC!

I think the best way to improve the clan right now is to actually use it.
