World wide reveal May 26.

Montana? If I remember correctly it is a place where you'll find members of my family who don't know me, a lot of horses and farms, and a lot of Militias. What do you think it'll be about? Militias? A Rambo (original movie) like story? I'm fairly sure that was a cop in the church tower.

The last trailer gave me a mountain people kind of vibe (probably just all those horror movies I watched) which could be a very good way to go with a Far Cry game, the player having to survive in a remote mountain area against a clan of people who have cut themselves off from the rest of the world.

Last one reminded me of an episode of Criminal Minds. They've done an excellent job of creating mystery over what this one could be about.

Not sure about how this could go, hopefully it doesn't just turn out to a Christian bashing simulator.

They're going after sovereigns. you can see it so clear I'd be surprised if the main baddie isn't named "Jiven Grundy."

It looks like a cult. That priest didn't look like he was with them at all.Not sure what to think of this one yet...

IGN Live Presents: Far Cry 5 Reveal

I've always wanted to go to Montana. Despite what they say in the IGN video there is quite a few movies about Montana and from what I've seen it is beautiful. Also from what I've seen I have no idea how a cult could take over so easily. Montana has a lot of guns even for America. This cult must be extremely well armed.

As for animals we've seen a bear, cows, dogs, most likely eagles will be there. Also if you are thinking that cows aren't dangerous try being chased by a bull with sharp horns that weighs a tonne. The heaviest bull that I've heard of came from England and weighed two tonnes...

Montana also has Mountain Lions, Wolves, Raccoons, Badgers, Skunks, Cross Foxes, Red & Gray Foxes, Minks, Porcupines, Pine Martens, Fishers, Bison, Deer, Moose, Big Horned Sheep, Goats, Ravens, Bob Cats, and a lot of horses.

If I were them I'd have breakouts from private zoos that some people have in places like Montana that way you can hunt more exotic creatures.

I did a re watch of the reveal trailer and I saw that the cult has graffitied the word John 1:4 on the side of the church.
"In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind." The cult leader must think that he is the second coming.

Nice find, or perhaps he has witnessed or thinks he witnessed something and believes he is preparing for the second coming. A good thing about adapting religious themes is how you can use their prophecies and how the writer interprets them, it could also make the whole thing go wrong though playing with such themes is risky.

They have completely updated the Far Cry WEBSITE

Welcome to Hope County, Montana, land of the free and the brave, but also home to a fanatical doomsday cult known as The Project at Eden’s Gate that is threatening the community's freedom. Stand up to the cult’s leader, Joseph Seed and the Heralds, and spark the fires of resistance that will liberate the besieged community.

In this expansive world, your limits and creativity will be tested against the biggest and most ruthless baddest enemy Far Cry has ever seen. It’ll be wild and it’ll get weird, but as long as you keep your wits about you, the residents of Hope County can rest assured knowing you’re their beacon of hope.

"The game is set in the fictional Hope County, Montana, where a preacher named Joseph Seed has risen to prominence. Seed believes that he has been chosen to protect the people of Hope County from an "inevitable collapse" and has established a congregation called Eden's Gate. Ostensibly, this is to fulfill his mission of leading the people to salvation;[8] in reality, Seed is a radical preacher and Eden's Gate is a militaristic doomsday cult. Under his rule, Eden's Gate has used both coercion and violence to forcibly convert the residents of Hope County, and intimidation to keep them from contacting the outside world for help. When an attempt to arrest Seed ends with the deaths of several lawmen, the player is swept into the armed conflict between Eden's Gate and the remaining Hope County residents who are organizing themselves into a resistance movement.[8]

The player takes on the role of a sheriff's deputy who is part of the task force sent to Hope County to arrest Seed. Seed has assumed the title of "the Father" and maintains control over Hope County with the aid of his siblings, known as "the Heralds": Jacob, a former military officer that oversees their armed soldiers; John, a lawyer that has been able to acquire much of the land in Hope County for Eden's Gate; and Faith, who acts as a pacifist to bring the people to believe and trust in her older brother.[8] The residents of Hope County opposed to Seed include Pastor Jerome, a local church leader that has seen his congregation taken by Eden's Gate; Mary May, a bartender whose father was driven to suicide by the cult; and Nick Rye, a cropduster pilot who wants to eliminate the influence of the cult in order to build a better future for his children.[9]" - Wikipedia

Ubiisoft said that they are definitely a cult. The news that you'd be playing a Muslim was fake, and one of the good guys is a christian priest.

I like how you can go fishing, I wonder if it plays into the crafting mechanic of the last few games. The cosplay looks great, and that song was perfect for the video. One other thing I like is the voice actors interacting with the fans like that. This is a really good video.

Far Cry 5: Sneaking, Sniping, and Blasting Through an Outpost

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8NUAhL5CuA

See Far Cry 5's various play styles in action as we take out an outpost by going quiet with a bow and arrow, from a distance with a sniper rifle, and guns blazing with a grenade launcher.
