Before the mass exodus on Gamespot,I used to do an annual game of the year award blog, where I'd mention my overall favorite game, plus my favorite game from each genre.Anyways,I thought I'd catch up a bit,and I'm only going to count games that I've played.

2016

The Eden of Grisaia

I'm going to cheat with this award, because the localized version of this game came out early in 2017,but it won't stand a chance against Persona 5,and since I didn't play many other titles in 2016,I thought I'd count this as being close enough to a 2016 game.

The grisaia series is about troubled people, who are sent to an academy, that's really a prison,so they can get educated, and put on the right path.Skip forward to the 4th game in the series, the main character(Yuuji) is suspected of terrorism, but at the same time, you see how him and Yumiko have created a romance, and want to live a relaxing life together. It's hard to talk about the plot without giving away spoilers, but I love this game because of the artwork and peaceful feeling it gives. Here is an example

Honorable mentions No Man's Sky and World of Final Fantasy.Incase you're wondering,I don't own a PS4,hence I haven't played Uncharted 4.

2015

Witcher 3

Memorable quests/characters,romance,and a huge world to explore make this game my favorite game from 2015.I like how you see the world affected by the decisions you make. It's combat is fluid and requires various strategies with various weapons on the harder difficulties. You can spend 100 hours exploring it's world and discovering many interesting stories within it's world.

Honorable mentions Metal Gear Solid 5 and Life is Strange

2014

Ar Nosurge

A creative and unique story,in which 2 pairs of characters begin on separate adventures,so you will see 2 separate stories viewpoints for a while, and 1 of the character pairs have a friend who is in possession of an ancient song magic that could be used to defeat aliens who have oppressed the human race, but she has gone missing.

The story has some interesting plot twists, and is quite funny, and has an adult feel, despite being anime style. The game has romance choices as well. It's combat system isn't great, but at least it's different.

Honorable mentions Akibastrip and Wolfenstein NWO.

2013

Fire Emblem Awakening

A lot of likable characters, lets you create romance and make children with your partner, and the permadeath will make the story emotional when a character dies, and can be tactically crippling for your party. The battle system has a lot of tactical depth, with many different unit types with various strengths and weaknesses, and it takes place on a grid style system.I like how the story has numerous things the characters need to deal with at once.

Honorable mentions Beyond Two Souls and Ni No Kuni.

I decided to give Injustice Gods Among Us a try, because I borrowed it from my brother. I didn't have too high expectations of it because I've played another similar themed game from the same developer named Mortal Kombat vc DC,and I wasn't a big fan of it,and I don't like many western fighting games because their fighting mechanics feel too stiff for my liking. I like the fluidity and flashiness of Japanese fighting games. Injustice turned out how I expected,it's style of fighting feels too stiff for my liking, although it has great presentation and beautiful graphics. The characters have great designs and nice details, and I like how the environments can get damaged and it can cause things such as water or steam or explosions to injure the characters. I especially like Aqua Man's underwater stage.

I've always had an interest in the supernatural, but I am very skeptical about most people's claims about experiences with ghosts, same goes with quite a number of my friends who told me they can use witchcraft to levitate, but when I asked them to perform a demonstration, they made up some reason why they couldn't do it.Anyways, the stories of the 'Black Eyed Children' AKA BECs always scares me,I don't know why.Something about them gives me the chills.

The BECS supposedly knock on your door at night, and ask to come inside. They will give a reason why they need to come inside(to use your telephone, use the restroom etc). They speak with no accent, and with no emotion. When they are refused entry, they persistently continue to knock(they do a slow, repetitive knock),and they will continue to inform the residents they need to come inside. They have eyes that are completely black. After a period of time without being allowed inside the place of residence, they will vanish.

Here are 5 chilling stories about alleged encounters with BECs.

How do I put this. I don't believe in ghosts but I've definitely seen one. It's private so if anyone wants to read about it send me a PM.

I know what you mean. I don't believe in ghosts in the traditional sense(such as them being spirits or lost souls),but I think the consciousness of someone(alive or dead)can exist in an out of body state, and can be transferred into another body or dimension. But,I don't think ghosts are just manifestations of a person's consciousness like many people make them out to be.

As for the BECs,a common theory that me and my friends have is they could be demons.Buddhists and Christians believe they are protected from Demons, but we still have the free will to allow a Demon entry into home, hence the BECs ask for permission to enter.

My new purchase

I actually wanted to buy a NES classic, but I didn't want to pay more than 5000 baht for one. The lowest the seller offered was 7000 baht,so I walked away, then the seller offered me a SNES classic for 4800 baht. I thought ''why not''? since I love the SNES's game library more than the NES game library, and it's only a matter of time before the SNES classic gets sold at ridiculously high prices like with the NES classic.

You should have brought two and sold the other when the prices skyrocket!

You've probably heard people say this before, but it would have been nice if these NES and SNES collections included more games. I've recently discovered the Japanese version of the SNES classic includes Super Street Fighter 2,where as the western releases have only Street Fighter 2 Turbo. The western NES classic has the original Final Fantasy, which the Japanese NES classic doesn't,but the Japanese NES classic has Kung Fu and NES Golf, which the western NES classic doesn't get.

Oh well,at least the NES and SNES classics still have a reasonable amount of good games, and the emulations are done well, and Nintendo handled things themselves.

The Mega Drive(GENESIS)classic was made by a 3rd party, and I heard the emulation for many of the games is bad(graphics and sound issues),and I've heard the games don't have a save feature(not even for RPGs that take over 20 hours to beat)and I've heard the controller is terrible and needs batteries.

I didn't bother with the newer NES because I still have the old one and I have many many more games on it.

Since the new Star Wars is due out soon and has everyone talking about it,it's made me think about how even though I'm not a big fan of the Star Wars movies,I like the Star Wars KOTOR game, which I played on Xbox many years ago. It used a darker and more serious tone to it's storytelling and character stories. I guess since Bioware developed it,it had a more adult feel. I also loved the atmospheres for Manaan(an aquatic world with a silver city that's built on top of the ocean),and Taris(a futuristic city with a purplish tinge to it).

I also have never been a fan of The Walking Dead TV series, because it focuses too much on soap opera stuff for my liking, but I loved The Walking Dead game from Telltale. TWD game has intense scenes with the zombies, and human bad guys, and I found the characters in WTD game to be more likable. Even though I'm not a big fan of Batman,I love the Telltale Batman game.

KoTOR is a great game, the upcoming mod/remaster looks amazing I hope it gets completed and ends up as good as it appears to be. I have to agree with you on TWD that is why I gave up watching it, same with Falling Skies they just ended up with too much focus on the soap opera type stuff rather than the horror/sci-fi aspects of the stories which was a real shame.

As some of you know,I travel a lot,so I often don't have access to my home consoles. But I take my portable consoles with me. My girlfriend saw my Vita laying around, and she asked me what does it do?

I showed her,and she was impressed with it's functions, although I couldn't show her the graphics for Uncharted Golden Abyss since I didn't bring it's game card,so I showed her World of FInal Fantasy instead, and she enjoyed watching me play it.

I told her it's a Japanese game, which has people go on a quest. Anyways, playing World of Final Fantasy once again has made me realize how beautiful and charming it is,but it's a game you can't have high expectations of .The game was meant to be old school and charming, but was never likely going to compare to the FF games that had a lot more production values put into them

I've known for a long time not to hype yourself too much for any game, because I learned that lesson with Final Fantasy 12. I was disappointed with it at first, then I played it again later and appreciated it's good points later. I enjoyed the limited amount of play time I put into World of FF last year, but wasn't in the mood to continue on with it,so I waited until a time I could appreciate it more, and I do see the beauty and charm in it even more so now.
