I agree. Use a combination of letters and numbers, but don't use the number part of your address or phone number.

Those who play games know why they do. To discover worlds, to challenge our fingers, and our minds. To connect with friends, or maybe just to escape.
Games are about possibilities, the paths we take as well as the ones we don't.

Hey guys have you ever heard about windows defender turning off or interfering with a modem? Because I just realised that all my problems started when I turned WD on. I just turned it off and the net started working again. No idea if it will keep working but it is a strange turn of events.

No, but I have heard of it causing other problems. Restart your PC after you turn it off. I hope your connection improves. 😕

I've tried the net with the pc off and it still plays up. I've been told the the problem is probably on my end, but there's no point in getting a new modem when they'll be switching me onto the NBN in a bit over a month anyway and the NBN can use the old modem technology. So at the moment I don't know how to proceed.

Tried a different wire to the node too.

I'm a bit more relaxed now. Apparently my ISP got it wrong and the problem is on there end. I ran their own troubleshooting programme and I discovered the fault. Sent it to them via twitter and got a big "thank you!" They had no idea that it was there.

I'll still be getting cut outs but at least they know about the problem.

I'll start writing some VR blogs in word pad and posting them.

Normally I would never play a prank on my mother but this was too good an opportunity to pass up. Mum can’t play games but when I brought the PSVR so I got her some meditation apps so she could enjoy it too. It’s basic look around and enjoy the view kind of stuff where your head is the controller.
One of the ones that she has enjoyed is an underwater cage exploration where you get to see fish and coral. I love it too it’s very relaxing and full of wonder. There are three of them and two of them mum has used, both of them calm and relaxing. The third one is “different.”

I told mum that today we were going to try something with a bit of story and not to feel alarmed if she hears voices this time around. For around ten minutes she was enjoying herself and then it happened she screamed. This version has a shark. A shark that attacks the cage for people who want a non-mediative experience. She started laughing and yelping. It was hilarious.

Afterwards I said “Please don’t kill me,” and she thanked me lol.

Anyway I’ve recently read that when the NBN comes to a new area the ADSL slows down 40% and I think that it’s pointless to continue to complain to my ISP to fix something that won’t exist in a month or two. Hopefully they’ll send me my NBN modem soon or when the cut-off happens I won’t have the net or a phone…

Still got the flu but it is lessening. Once I’m well enough I’ll write a blog about the downsides to PSVR.

Some days I can get a very slow (kbs) connection for a few hours and other days it is on of or just off. So I still can't enjoy the E3 videos but I can come online a bit. Still can't make themes for the clan however. Hopefully when the NBN comes in things will be back to normal. Wish that they'd hurry up and send me my new modem so I'm ready when the time comes.

Looks like my image hosting site is shutting down :( Some of the pages here will lose their pics. I can't upload any pics atm but what is a good private image hosting site that I can use for us?

Got fast net for a couple of hours. So I've seen some of the E3 Trailers. I'm currently very hungry so I'll post my thoughts on them later. Net's still playing up but at least I've caught up a bit. Can't wait to see the press conferences hopefully next month!

The Assassin’s Creed Origins trailers are mind blowing and the website is incredibly well done. Go check it out HERE. I discovered a place to download the trailers for many games too HERE so I can watch them over even where the net is down.

Beyond Good and Evil 2’s trailer looked incredible, but the swearing put me off a bit. The original game didn’t have this so why now. It seemed a bit much. I know that this language has become more common but it doesn’t suit the narrative and when there is too much swearing in a spoken sentence it can be difficult to know what they are saying. I haven’t watched the dev diary yet but it is on my PC awaiting me.

Crackdown looks like old school fun. Some people were complaining about this but honestly I don’t see the problem. I loved the old Crackdown games for what they were and they were great. The graphics though seem to be crisper.

Yakuza 6 contains a major spoiler for the upcoming game. Seriously why did they do that? Sure it is incredibly exciting and opens up a who bag of questions but I would have loved to discover that ingame.

Speaking of Yakuza the remake of Yakuza 1 named Yakuza Kiwami has had its graphics rebuilt from the ground up it looks so much better than the old demo I played of it long ago before I even considered getting the internet in the old demo disc days. It looks like they have added a lot of new content too! I’ll copy these last two paragraphs and make a new thread after I post this blog!

Far Cry 5 is going to be very good but very controversial and for reasons I can’t talk about on these forums because of current politics in the US of A. However the graphics are great the new co-op mode looks like it could be a great way for the clan to get together, and there are a lot of changes to the mechanics that will shake things up this time around.

The new Horizon Zero Dawn DLC looks great. The area shown looks huge and the last boss could be the size of a mountain!

I’m a bit concerned about Fallout 4 and Skyrim VR I will get into the reasons behind this in my next blog about the problems with VR.

Agents of Mayhem looks like it will be like a comic version of Saints Row. I really don’t know how to describe it more than that at the moment.

Uncharted Lost Legacy looks like it will continue the series with Chloe Frazer and if you’ve played the series you’ll know that this is an exciting choice.

I still have much to see but for the reasons mentioned in the posts above I’ll have to wait.

As stated previously VR is brilliant, but it does have its problems & it’s finally time to talk about them. Some are easily fixed and some are concerning.
The first problem that I noticed was my hair. While putting it on my hair constantly gets pushed into my eyes. It is winter so I’m not going to get my hair cut so it can be a bit of a struggle to get it slick back enough for this not to be a problem.

You do need a bit of room around you. I have smashed my hand into the wall on occasion while using the motion controllers.

If the camera is in the wrong position you can find that your in-game body is in the wrong place. I noticed this in Batman VR when I tried to slouch down a bit. The camera no longer fully understood my position and I had to sit up again. It sucked a bit because I wanted to relax and to fix it took a while of moving the camera about. Once fixed though there was a lot of fun to be had.

The biggest problem has only happened with two games: Robinson & Loading Human; Virtual reality sickness (a bit like Motion Sickness). I’ve been on a ship at seam & several Sydney ferries and I never got sick, but these games get me sick in around 5 minutes. In these games you walk around the areas unlike my other games where you move via transport, or Batman’s zip line thing. The motion sickness is caused by your body thinking that you are walking but your legs aren’t actually moving. Your system gets disorientated and you start to feel ill. Armed with this knowledge I tried an experiment by moving my legs on the spot while playing and the experience was lessened. According to the studies you have to get used to it and it will lessen in time. I’ll let you know if that is true once I try it. I took a break from VR for a few weeks while suffering from the flu.
