Trailer for the new Toho Godzilla movie, I think it looks great so hopefully the movie gets a cinema release outside Japan given his recent Hollywood success. Godzilla has a slightly new look but also still looks like his earlier versions.

Godzilla is returning home. I wasn't a fan of Godzilla 2014 but this one looks great. Godzilla actually looks really frightening. I'm eager to learn more about the scars. I hope it get's a cinema release elsewhere. They did it with Godzilla 2000 sixteen years ago after the Broderick movie flopped, so perhaps they'll do it again?

I didn't much like the 2014 movie either, the story was very dull and they did cut away from the fights too often. I think it would have been far more interesting if the added in some more monster fighting and had followed the team of scientists at the destroyed power plant studying the monster then the science team/military after Godzilla showed up

It is Alien day.... that is apparently a thing now so meet the new member of the Alien family, I wonder if this thing will be in Alien 5 which is supposed to be the new Alien 3 since they removed 3 and resurrection from canon πŸ˜•

3 and Resurrection are non-canon now? Honestly I'm not surprised. I didn't care for either of them.

The Alien King is scary, which is good. I don't know if I want to see it though. There's just something about the Queen that's just iconic. Adding a king would take away from that, I think.

Also, there're making an Alien 5?! Or is that the Prometheus sequel?

The new Alien movie is due to release after the Prometheus sequel and is being directed by Neill Blomkamp who made District 9 and Elysium. Ripley and Hicks are returning and the story is said to be more of a direct follow up to Aliens.

I agree about the hive setup and a king being added might take away from that but in one of the comics a King was engineered by a scientist to try and control the aliens, a story which seemed to be partly adapted for Resurrection rather badly. If better adapted it could make for a really good movie and the King was in the end killed by a Queen who he foolishly picked a fight with πŸ˜›

District 9 was a fantastic film. Elysium wasn't my favorite but Blomkamp sounds like a great choice to direct the new Alien movie so I'm excited.

For sure, if the king was adapated well, I think the inclusion would add a new twist to the franchise, just as long as the Queen kills him 😎

The King Alien is elusive and there is only one of him. There are several queens scattered across several solar systems. He has to mate with them for her pods to be viable. She is very protective of her offspring and when men attack the king, she ambushes them to save her king and her species. The End. Or is it? The King must survive. πŸš€ 🌎

Nice! I'm still grinding through season 2 of Daredevil but Bernthal's Punisher is fantastic. I'm glad they're making a spin off series.

If you're wondering why I haven't been posting much in this thread lately, it is because growing up I didn't have comics, so I have no idea what your talking about.

I'm not a fan of Aliens, but I know some interesting (or is that terrifying?) facts about the creature. It is based on three species of real life parasite; the Parasitoid Wasps that lay their eggs in insects who eat and burst out of their host, the Parasitic Shrimp that burrows into it's victim and eats them from the inside out, and the Phronima who has an uncanny resemblance to the Alien Queen. Now excuse me while I go and throw up.

You should give the Daredevil show a try you don't need to have read any comics to follow it and it is a far cry from the Avengers line up and very down to earth really for a Marvel production, it is also quite action packed with incredible fight choreography.

Some interesting facts about the Alien, the creature in the first movie was designed by H.R.Giger but the queen was thought up by James Camerons team for Aliens and not designed by Giger due a falling out between the artist and Fox. He later went to design the creature Sil in Species and variations of both can be seen in his art.

My mom had the same reaction when she saw Alien in the theaters back in 79 haha. It truly is a disturbing creature though.

I'm still wondering why Civil War showed up way earlier in Philippines. They put it on theaters back in April 27. I haven't watched it yet since I'm still catching up on Agents of SHIELD.
I'm quite excited on what's happening in SHIELD lately.

It appears we may be getting a Dredd television show on either Netflix or Amazon. Given how Netflix has handled Daredevil and Punisher I think they would be a far better fit for Judge Dredd, the only Amazon show I like is Bosch and most of their originals seems to be comedies and shows aimed at children/teens.

Has anyone watched Civil War? I won't say much. I'll just say it's awesome but has a few flaws but doesn't need mentioning.

I just added it to my Netflix DVD Queue. Thanks for the heads-up.

I thought Civil War was great, perhaps one of my favorite Marvel movies even. I enjoyed it a lot more than The Winter Soldier. The addition of The Black Panther was fantastic; I'm looking forward to his solo movie. I won't say anything to revealing, but Tom Holland's Spider-Man was refreshing. I liked him better than Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker, although Holland doesn't quite beat Tobey Maguire (yet).
