It has a great lore on Frankenstein and other necromancy going on. The Steampunk connection to it is really interesting take on it too though
To avoid spoiler on it. I'll just say the part near ending is kinda confusing though.

Not usually a fan of remakes but the new version of Death Wish looks decent although it reminds me more of The Punisher and the recent Equalizer movie than the original Death Wish.

No one could do better than Charles Bronson. I'm pretty sure that Death Wish was the first R rated movie that I watched as a kid.

Agreed, Bronson did an excellent job and his movie was brutal and gripping. Bruce's movie looks like a decent action flick but there might be more to it given Eli Roth is directing.

Glad you enjoyed EoC Kierwiny, hopefully I can get around to watching it soon it does sound really intriguing.

I just watched Shin Gojira. I must say this is so far the best Godzilla Movies I've seen.
The one before this is good too.
This one is made by them Japanese so I needed some Subtitles to help me for that.
There's a major difference between the two aside from the ethnicity of course.
I don't go into spoilers but there's a major difference of Godzilla screen time, Godzilla powers, Godzilla behavior, Godzilla body build and Godzilla Face.
As far as I'm concerned it's still Godzilla to me with different take in each side of making the movie. East and West I guess.

Just watched this at the weekend, and quite enjoyed it although I felt they could have trimmed it down by maybe 20 minutes. I understand they where trying to show how inefficient the government was due to red tape, bureaucracy and treaties etc but boy was it painful to watch after a while 😅

Some spoilers below

Godzilla was amazing though I think it is the most powerful version I have saw. it will be very interesting to see what kind of monsters they have face off against Godzilla in the future. Do you think the missing scientist from the beginning is Godzilla?

Saw Kong Skull Island last night and thought it was rather boring and reminded me of the WB Godzilla in plot and I looked it up and they where both written by the same person and both movies move along to the same general plot. People discover monsters are real, people die, military try to use powerful weapons to destroy Kong/Godzilla, realise other monsters pose greater threat then let Kong/Godzilla fight other monsters and ends with Kong/Godzilla walking away in happy ending.

That being said the movie did have great effects and the Skull Island natives and their part of the island was well done much like it was in Peter Jacksons movie but not nearly as grand looking in scale. The dialogue was rather generic and bland for the most part and attempts at humour where awful and cringe worthy which was very weird since I usually like John C Riley and John Goodman but nothing was funny for me. Jurassic World came to mind for me as well when thinking of the male/female leads their didn't seem to much going on with them and their interactions again seemed awkward and was difficult to watch at times.

I thought Toby Kebbell was great both as Kong and Cpt Chapman, seems he might be following on from Andy Serkis as a mo-cap genius 😋 Glad I waited to rent instead of going to the cinema it was a good looking movie but not much going on in term of writing or performance wise which was a waste of a usually very talented cast.

I've known about the movie named Snowpiercer for a while, but I've watched it for the first time tonight. It's a Korean movie, that uses many western actors.

The movie is about how the world's climate became too cold for living things to survive after scientists tried to counter global warming by altering the world's climate. The survivors live on a train, which needs to keep running to keep it's perpetual motion engine going, which powers the train,so they can have energy and heat.Anyways, the social elites have the better living conditions, and use the less-important people as slaves, and have them live in brutal conditions. So,some of the people living in the brutal conditions try a revolt, and try to fight for control of the train.

There's a lot of action and story-driven sequences, and it's a long movie. The movie is interesting and original, but it has that Korean satirical style that I've seen in other Korean movies, and I would have preferred a more serious tone at times. It was enjoyable nonetheless.

I saw a movie called Shot Caller last night and it was great, a movie I had not heard much about but the cast is amazing Nikolaj Coster-Waldau,Jon Bernthal,Lake Bell and Jeffrey Donovan. The movie is a slow burner but well paced and suspenseful prison/crime drama thriller, being what it is there is a fair amount of adult content but never goes over the top with language or violence.

I watched the Assassins Creed movie recently and I thought it was pretty good. The fight scenes were very good and the story was unique. I like the way they pulled off the simulator aspect of the story.

They changed the way an Animus projects memories because sleeping in the whole movie might not be very easy to understand for people who isn't a fan of Assassin's Creed.
although it is great it's not very cliche that it is "Straight from the game".
Also love how they connected Aguilar to the other assassin's that scene is rad! although I hate the soundtrack too I don't know mainstream.
I expected some Assassin's Creed feeling ost with those epic set pieces. and stuff.
but still great movie though.

Watched a lot of movies lately,
Atomic blonde, an' all is fine i guess the first part of the movie is kinda boring I got bored I guess I little bit. In the long run the pieces are starting to fall together and that's where the fun part comes, all those action and sh*t but the story is kinda typical in all those agent, double agent, and triple agent cliche. kinda ....... I don't know John Wick.
still the action sick yo!

Then watched Your Name. gotta see what's all the fuss is about y'know in English Dub because I still think the VAs are awesome and didn't know the OST was Re-recorded for English too.
did not regret it! I loved it. although it is kinda questionable here and there if you're gonna nitpick every detail it is kinda funky at it. still that Coming of an Age story is great.
I understand why people loved it so much. 9.5/10 if you ask me.

I was thinking about picking up Atomic Blonde but a lot of the reviews where as you said, good action but boring story so I decided to wait till it comes to TV.

I have been watching a really good time travel sci-fi show called Continuum, just started the second season and it has a good mix of action, drama and an interesting story that sort of reminds me of the movie Fight Club .

Also onto the second seasons of Twelve Monkeys and Colony which have continued to be very good in my opinion, on a sci-fi/time travel binge at the minute for TV.

I saw a really fantastic action/assassin movie yesterday called The Villainess. Easily the best action movie I have saw in quite some time and reminded me of the no holds barred films of the 80s and 90s but it also has some amazing cinematography, I think they actually used drones for some of the scenes it was quite a visual treat.

I don't want to go into the story it is one I think talking about would spoil it too much but it has been compared to movie like Leon and La Femme Nikita which I would say is fair and it lives up to being compared with those. Needless to say it is a brutal and bloody movie from start to finish, the action is really well done and it has minimal harsh language and no sex or nudity. It is a must must see movie in my opinion for action fans who don't mind blood.
