With the DLC, I thought you go to level 80 now.

I'm a level 27 now and there are, what, 60 levels possible. I still have a long way to go the get to the upper levels.

I'm still working on the side missions. I just leveled up to a level 28 today after shooting a slew of bad guys. I'm not sure where I am, but it has tunnels that lead from one open area to another.

I'm in Sawtooth Cauldron on a side mission called The Great Escape.

Objectives
◾Retrieve stolen Hyperion beacon
◾Place beacon for Ulysses
◾Pick up Ulysses' pet (Optional)

When I took the elevator back down, I ran into a guy with a breathing mask and a shotgun. He was a stubborn kill. Anyway, I'm looking for the beacon and Ulysses' pet fish (best friends gotta stick together). I'll let you know how it goes.

Never played Borderlands, I remember when it was originally announced with a very nice teaser. The next thing I remember hearing is it got moved to another dev and it was going to be a very different game and that put me off.

That all aside PS+ is giving us BL2 for free as a christmas bonus and I was wondering if anyone plays it on the PS3?

Giving it to you? That's great. You are going to love it. I don't think anyone in our group has it on PS3. Strange.

Do you have online friends (PS Network) that have it? Oh, I wish we could play across platforms. After all, it is the same game. :(

I agree cross platform MP would be great and especially later in games lifes when some folk stop playing it would mean the servers don't get so emtpy as fast.

I read that this is why Warframe actually ended up a PS only game as MS refused cross platform between PS and XB players :(

There is also about £40 worth of DLC for BL2 lol, what packs would you say are the choice picks? No one on my PSN list has either borderlands game but i'll grab some folk in matchmaking.

Wow, that's a good question. BL2 is ripe with DLCs and other add-ons.
There a 4 types of packs you can get, Story packs, Headhunter packs, Class packs, and Customization packs. I'll briefly describe each one.

Story Packs - These add missions to the main story and I feel are a must have, but don't buy them yet. Read on.
Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty
Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage
Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt
Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep

Headhunter Packs - These are smaller goal driven missions that do not add to the story, just extra fun stuff.
TK Baha's Bloody Harvest - The first Headhunter Pack themed around Halloween.
The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler - Players are thrown into a Hunger Games style mission to seek and kill the Wattle Gobbler in this Thanksgiving themed add-on.
How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day - A Christmas themed pack.

Class Packs - These add two new characters you can choose from to play through the game.
Mechromancer Pack - The fifth Borderlands 2 character.
Psycho Pack - The sixth Borderlands 2 character.

Customization Packs - There are plenty of these.

Other DLC Packs - These are DLC bundles and specials not offered elsewhere.
Season Pass - A DLC bundle pack which features all four story DLC packs and the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 (a 33% savings). The Season Pass does not include the Mechromancer or Psycho Packs, any customization packs, or Collector's Edition Pack.
Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 - Raises the level cap to 61, adds the Pearlescent item rarity, and unlocks Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. (included in the Season Pass)
Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge - Raises the level cap to 72, adds a new Patricia Tannis mission where you may fight impossible "over leveled" monsters at Digistruct Peak. (It is not apart of the season pass)
Collector's Edition Pack - Adds one head and one skin for each of the four original classes (Assassin, Commando, Gunzerker, Siren) and the Contraband Sky Rocket grenade mod. Originally exclusive to the Borderlands 2 Collector's Edition.
Creature Slaughter Dome - Adds an exclusive Circle of Slaughter arena to the game. (Originally an exclusive pre-order bonus)

I played a few hours today. I Found the beacon and the fish and returned them to Ulysses. He said he had to get off this forsaking place and stepped out onto the dock where he was instantly crushed by one of those large loading crates which homed in on his beacon (I love surprising humor like that).

Bl2 features 19 Story Missions that are usually significantly longer than the more plentiful Side Quests and make up the main story of the game. What's been the most difficult for you?

Story Missions

◾Toil and Trouble
◾Data Mining
◾The Talon of God

I finished the Data Mining mission today and I'm back in Sanctuary for some R and R. I leveled up to a 30 and I have about 18,000 dollars and plenty of ammo. I want to finish all the side missions before I head off to tackle the last story mission, "The Talon of God".
I may need some help. After all, it is the final chapter on the story.

I completed a side mission today. I went back to the Game Preserve to complete a level 19 mission as a level 30 player. That was fun. It was much easier to gun through the preserve as a level 30 than the first time I struggled through it as a 19.

I made it back to Sanctuary after only dying one time and I sold the stuff I collected along the way and now I have 50,000 dollars.

We need to get on with Soul Motor, playing with higher level players advances you so much faster if you join their game and they are willing to save your butt....

That sound good. I remember jumping into Falconer's game. I would respawn, take a few steps, get shot dead, and respawn again. I think there is a limit on the disparity between player levels. What level is Soul Motor anyway?

I also remember jumping into Falconer's game as well. He gave me a great gun but for some strange reason it didn't transfer to my main game. I think I lost a lot of money (from dying) from joining his game though hahaha. It was still worth it.

I am hoping massively that they convert the BL games over the nex gen. I won't hold my breath, cause it may take a few years if it ever happens.

I finished all the side missions I could. Several of them are not playable because they are undiscovered. I'm not sure how to discover them without being sent there.

Anyway, I started The Talon of God last night. I spent about 3 hours grinding through it. I'm still not done. I saved it so I could try to finish today or this weekend.

At my greatest wealth, I had about 138,000 dollars. I'm under 100,000 now, but I'm a level 34.

I believe I gained a few levels amongst all of the havoc which I will gladly accept over some change anyday.

Bear and I teamed up on Saturday and finished my BL2 story line. That's right. We leveled up to 35, and finished Talon of God and killed Handsome Jack. But, the story continues because of the DLCs included with the GOTY edition. After the credits rolled, we were able to move on to another mission.

We stopped there and I jumped into his new game with new characters. We play on, because Borderland is a great co-op game, and we don't want it to end.

BL2 GOTY includes the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 which lets you get to level 61 but does not include the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 which tops you out at level 72.

I downloaded it last night so I could catch up to Falconer. ;)
It is only a few dollars to buy, so I bought it. It's going to take a while to be able to use it.
